"Christmas in the Country" Bazaar

December 5th, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Members of our church are planning and working to make this year's bazaar the best ever.  This is a church-wide undertaking.  Go ahead and volunteer, because Felicia Cooley, Audrey Vaughn or Virginia Sanderson will be seeing you!

Items are needed for the craft room and the sweet shop.  We never have enough gumbo or potato salad.  Be sure to tell your friends and COME AND SPEND AND SPEND!

Flavorings are available for purchase.  Please see Judy Robison or Dianne Hayes.

Four of the round white tablecloths are missing.  If you have taken any home to wash, place them in the plastic bins in the fellowship hall.

ESTHER CIRCLE

Our October meeting was held at the soon-to-be completed West Wilmer UMC.  One of the ladies, a member and worker there, opened the meeting with prayer.  We shared a minute or two with each lady present because we wanted to know them in a more personal way.

There was a lot of construction noise surrounding us, but we ignored, it because we could see progress along with the noise!  Barbara Williams was the hostess for October, and she prepared a very filling and delicious meal for the crowd.  We enjoyed a chicken casserole, spinach salad, squash dish, unique bread, iced tea and great desserts by Barbara and Ramona Williams.  If you had seen this feast, you still would not have believed it would feed so many.  We were reminded of loaves and fishes.

We formed a large circle for our meeting and each lady was given a chance to say a special prayer.  This was touching because so many of these families have so little personally, but have the most thankful and grateful hearts and souls.

I, Joyce Middleton, the writer of this article, left that meeting and church thanking God for what he has given me, maybe not so much for material things, but for being blessed with a big heart filled with love, not only for those ladies, but for mankind.

Again, thanks so much to Barbara and Ramona and all the other ladies who attended the meeting and prepared the great meal and program for so many.
